Laurie is a professor in the Educational Leadership doctoral program in the College of Education at Seattle University where she teaches research/evaluation, leadership, and social justice courses. She has over 35 years of experience as an educator, evaluator, and researcher specializing in creating conditions for cooperative interaction, constructive conflict resolution, participatory evaluation for capacity building, and evaluator competencies for professional practice.

Laurie regularly publishes research and 
applied resources for practitioners on these topics, including her most recent book with co-author Jean A. King entitled Interactive Evaluation Practice: Mastering the Interpersonal Dynamics of Program Evaluation (SAGE, 2013). She also is past chair of two American Educational Research Association Special Interest Groups—SIG Cooperative Learning: Theory, Research, and Practice; and SIG Conflict Resolution and Violence Prevention.

In addition to supporting effective organizational development across the 
United States, Laurie’s international work includes presentations in Australia, Canada, the Czech Republic, Denmark, England, Greece, Italy, Mexico, the Netherlands, and South Africa.
