Presentation Formats
This conference has been developed to facilitate four basic types of sessions. Unless specified, the primary language of the session is either English or Japanese.
| Round Table Sessions (45minutes or 90 minutes) | |
| This session is designed to provide an opportunity for sharing research ideas and/or exchanging practical information about cooperative learning among educators and researchers. | The length of each session can be 45 or 90 minutes upon the request. |
| Paper Sessions (90 minutes) | |
| 4 paper presentations per session. A facilitator will be assigned to engage the presenter and participants in collaborative conversation related to the ideas presented. | 20 minutes per each paper presentation (12 minutes presentation + 8 minutes Q & A) |
| Organized Panel/ Symposium (90 minutes) | |
| Presentations of papers by a team on a conference strand. Each panel will identify a facilitator who will engage the presenters and participants in collaborative conversation. | 2~3 presenters for each panel session are desirable. |
| Workshop (180 minutes) | |
| An instructional model/ some particular techniques are presented for teachers with experiential learning activities as an interactive workshop. | All workshops are within the regular program. If you are interested in offering a pre-conference workshop, please contact our program committee at jasce@kurume-u.ac.jp. |
Please submit an abstract of your proposal by 29 February 2008 as an email attachment to George Jacobs at jacobs_george@yahoo.com Notification of acceptance of proposals can be expected by 15 March 2008. All proposals will be submitted to blind review. Please include identifying information only as requested.
If your proposal is accepted, your abstract is expected to be submitted before 30 April 2008. All drafts will be listed in the conference program on our web site. Please understand that your paper/ presentation summary will be circulated on our web site. We assume that you give JASCE your permission to do so when you submit your proposal.
